RUM Cost for 100M Pageviews/Month 2026
At 100 million monthly page views (roughly 50 million sessions), you are in enterprise procurement territory. Published list rates are largely irrelevant, actual contracts are negotiated 30-50% below list for multi-year committed-spend deals.
Vendor cost at 100M pageviews/month (2 pages/session = 50M sessions/month)
| Vendor | Monthly list | Annual list | Likely negotiated |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | $0 | $0 | Free; CWV only |
| AWS CloudWatch RUM | ~$5,000 | ~$60,000 | AWS doesn't typically discount |
| New Relic Browser | ~$800 | ~$9,600 | Shared ingest meter |
| Catchpoint Expert | $999 | $11,988 | Token-based; may exceed allowance |
| Dynatrace RUM basic | $112,500 | $1,350,000 | $600K-$900K committed-spend |
| Datadog RUM | $157,500 | $1,890,000 | $3.15/1K RUM; $945K-$1.4M committed-spend |
The quote-only conversation at this scale
Akamai mPulse, Splunk RUM, and Fullstory Enterprise dominate the conversation at this volume. None publish a per-session or per-beacon rate we could use to model a figure, so rather than invent a band, here is what actually moves each quote:
- Akamai mPulse: monthly beacon volume and, above all, whether mPulse rides an existing Akamai CDN, security, or edge contract, it is anchored to total account value.
- Splunk RUM: total Splunk Observability Cloud spend, where log ingest and APM are the dominant drivers and RUM is a minor fraction.
- Fullstory Enterprise: session volume, retention window, and add-ons such as mobile analytics.
For an actual number at this scale you need direct sales engagement; anyone quoting a specific figure without one is guessing.
Sampling becomes a primary cost lever
At 50M sessions/month, sampling rate matters enormously. Reducing capture from 100% to 25% reduces the per-session bill by 75%. Most enterprise RUM contracts at this volume default to 10-25% sampling for non-critical user segments and 100% sampling for high-value user segments (logged-in users, paid plans, etc).
Self-hosted may make economic sense at this scale
At 50M sessions/month, self-hosted Grafana Faro or self-hosted Elastic Browser RUM can be operationally cheaper than commercial alternatives, the infrastructure + operations cost ($30K-$100K/yr) is below the cheapest commercial enterprise contract at this scale.
For smaller volumes, see 100K, 1M, or 10M pageviews. For the enterprise negotiation framework, see RUM for enterprise.
