RUM for Mid-Market 2026
100,000 to 1 million sessions per month is the largest band in the published-pricing space. Most RUM vendors target it with mid-tier subscriptions. Per-session pricing differences become operationally meaningful here.
Cost at 500K sessions/month, 10% replay coverage, 30-day retention
| Vendor | Monthly | Annual | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| AWS CloudWatch RUM | ~$50 | ~$600 | Cheapest if on AWS |
| Sematext Standard | $99 | $1,188 | 500K session tier |
| Atatus Growth | $99 | $1,188 | Bundled APM+RUM+Logs |
| Sentry Team + overage | ~$300 | ~$3,600 | Heavy replay overage |
| LogRocket Team | $295 | $3,540 | Replay-first product |
| Dynatrace RUM basic | $1,125 | $13,500 | +$1,125 for replay add-on |
| Datadog RUM | $2,250 | $27,000 | Annual commit rate |
The price leaders
- AWS CloudWatch RUM if you're on AWS — ~$50/month for the workload above. Replay bundled free.
- Atatus Growth at $99/month if you want APM + RUM + Logs in one product.
- Sematext Standard at $99/month if you only need RUM (no replay).
The feature-rich mid-tier
- Sentry Team at $300/month is competitive for combined errors + performance + replay; SDK ecosystem is strongest in this band.
- LogRocket Team at $295/month for replay-first debugging workflow.
- Dynatrace if you need the broader Dynatrace observability platform.
Skip Datadog at mid-market
Datadog at $2,250/month for 500K sessions is 22x the AWS CloudWatch rate and 7-22x the Atatus/Sematext rates. The product is excellent but the cost only makes sense when you're already on Datadog for APM and want the unified observability story. Pure mid-market RUM purchases on Datadog rarely make financial sense.
The hidden cost: replay percentage
The above table assumes 10% replay coverage. Increasing replay to 50% changes the calculus significantly:
- Datadog stays at $2,250 (bundled).
- Dynatrace jumps to $1,125 + $562 = ~$1,687.
- Sentry jumps to $26 + 250,000 × $3.75/1K = $964 in overage = ~$990/month.
- LogRocket Team stays at $295 (replay is part of product).
At higher replay percentages, the gap between bundled vs add-on pricing narrows. Datadog's relative position improves at full-replay workloads.
